Brief
Mr and Mrs G came to see us with a fabulous and unusually cut yellow sapphire that they had bought many years ago on holiday. It held lovely memories for them but had spent many years in a drawer, so they thought it was about time it was made into something that could be worn and cherished.
Design Inspiration
We sat down and discussed what the of jewellery she would like and we settled on a ring. Having also decided on yellow gold as it complimented the yellow sapphire so well, we decided that a simple frame of either fine white diamonds or simple yellow gold would enhance the beauty of their stone the most. The shape was so unusual that the design had to make a feature of this.
Creation
We then set about making the ring. The unusual and beautiful shape of the sapphire needed very careful work on the setting
The finished piece
The finished ring was stunning, and it was lovely to see the reaction when we presented it to her. Turning a design into a reality is such a pleasure for us, and a real privilege that customers entrust their precious mementos and heirlooms to us to transform into beautiful jewellery to be enjoyed every day.
